Alan WalmesleyAlan Walmsley joined chambers in June 2006 and is instructed as Lead Counsel, with Queen's Counsel or alone in complex criminal trials in London and throughout the UK. Alan was educated  at the Merchant Taylor's School Crosby and retains strong links with the North West. Alan is listed in the Chambers UK 2011 Guide as a Leading Junior.

His career at the Criminal Bar has seen him instructed in a number of high profile murder trials and other serious crimes against the person. Alan is regularly instructed in cases involving complex and large scale conspiracies and all forms of serious sexual offending.

Since November 2010 Alan has been involved in three murder trials which have all resulted in the acquittal of the defendant for murder. He has represented the interests of a number of the defendants connected with the Tonbridge Securitas Robbery in the UK and outside the jurisdiction. He remains instructed in a number of matters which have been investigated by the Serious Organised Crime Agency.

Alan regularly receives instructions in this field and has acted for local authorities, police forces, private brewers, clubs and TFL. Work undertaken has included applications at all levels for and opposing licences for; Liquor, Regulated Entertainment, Betting Offices, Casinos, Internet Gaming, Lotteries and Competitions, Sex Establishments, Firearms, Taxis and Private Hire.
