Dickon Reid is a specialist criminal barrister. He has been instructed alone as well as led junior counsel for both the prosecution and defence in a wide range of serious criminal matters.

Dickon recently appeared as junior counsel in a four week murder case at the central criminal court. He was also junior defence counsel in a conspiracy to murder case in which the five defendants were accused of carrying out a series of vigilante attacks over a two-week period.

He regularly prosecutes and defends in matters of violence, robbery, aggravated burglary, burglary, drugs supply and firearms offences. He has also prosecuted and defended a number of confiscation proceedings under the Proceeds of Crime Act 2002 and the Drug Trafficking Act 1994.

Additionally, he has appeared in a number of Courts Martials in Germany and in the United Kingdom.

Prior to being called to the Bar, Dickon was a financial journalist. He was taken on as a tenant after successful completion of a twelve-month pupilage with Sarah Forshaw QC.

Recent Notable Cases

R v B (2011) Five-handed conspiracy to murder case in which the defendants were accused of carrying out a series of vigilante attacks over a two-week period. Junior counsel for the defence.

R v M (2010) Four-week murder trial at the central criminal court in which the defendant was accused of murdering his ex-wife. Junior counsel for the defence.

R v N (2010) Defence counsel for contested confiscation hearing alleging hidden assets of £1m.

R v R (2008-9) Large scale conspiracy to burgle over 60 commercial premises throughout London and the South-East. The investigation spanned a two year period. Junior counsel for the crown

R v D (2009) Knifepoint robbery of a brothel in west London. Defence counsel.

R v D (2009) Knifepoint robbery including the stabbing of a 14 year old. Defence counsel.

R v Y (2008) Five handed wounding with intent and violent disorder. Case involved an alleged drugs turf war in south east London. Defence counsel for first defendant.

R v G (2008) Five week attempted murder trial. Case involved a fight between two groups of youths. G was accused of driving into a group of youngsters. The case required the use of an intermediary. Junior counsel for the crown.

R v M (2009) Sexual assault by 15 year old boy on another youth. Defence counsel.
