Pieter's practice covers all fields of criminal law, appearing as lead Counsel, with QC or alone.

Pieter has extensive experience of conducting serious frauds and other offences involving dishonesty, as well as offending relating to the importation, supply and possession of drugs. His practice also covers all serious violence and in particular allegations of cruelty to children.

Pieter has recently been instructed as junior Counsel in two multi-handed serious fraud cases led by a silk, a serious child abuse case again led by a silk, a 26 handed conspiracy to supply class A drugs as Counsel alone, a C.C.C. murder as Counsel alone, an attempted murder as Counsel alone and acting as Lead Counsel in a multi-handed youth rape case.

Pieter has extensive experience of acting for and advising clients on the mental health aspects of criminal work relating not only to insanity and fitness to plead but also the ramifications of more general personality disorder and conditions such as autism and Asperger's syndrome.
