R v Johnson & Ors - [2006] Snaresbrook

The importation of over a tonne of cannabis from Belgium involving 7 defendants. The drugs were smuggled inside carpet rolls and the investigation involved covert surveillance, audio probes, and co-operation with the Belgian authorities over a period of 6 months. The defendants all claimed that they believed they were smuggling tobacco but were themselves the victim of a named convicted drug trafficker and suspected murderer who duped them.
