R v. Waterman [2008]
1 of 19 defendants charged with conspiring to smuggle and supply cocaine. There were several consignments totalled over 30 kilos. The defendant stated that he was only concerned in money laundering and had no knowledge of the wider conspiracy to smuggle the cocaine. This defence succeeded and he received a five year sentence subsequently reduced to four on appeal. The main defendant received 21 years imprisonment.
