R v. Emery & ors [2006]
Led Junior defending – Manslaughter and Conspiracy to pervert the course of Justice. An off-duty police officer was killed when he was struck by a lorry whilst riding his push bike. The allegation was that the driver of the lorry had been exceeding the hours he was permitted to drive and had been covering this up. Following the fatal crash a number of people at the driver’s workplace, in addition to his brother, planned to cover up the amount he had been working by taking the tacographs from the cab of his lorry and destroying documents from the office where they were kept.
