R v Riefe & ors (Snaresbrook)
Instructed for the first defendant in a multi-handed conspiracy to produce counterfeit currency. The case was widely reported in the national press as the quantities of counterfeit cash produced bth for the Uk and European market were of such good quality that they were difficult to detect. Again there was the need for under cover surveillance and probe evidence. As a resukt of the arrests of these defendants the English £20 note had to be changed.
