R v. Bar Oz [2010]
Junior Alone defending – Defendant charged with causing the death of another whilst driving carelessly.
The defendant was alleged to have been momentarily distracted whilst driving when adjusting his radio. As a result he was said not to have seen a pedestrian who was struck by his car and died.The case centred around expert analysis of the duration of the distraction and the relevant stopping distances at the speeds travelled. The defendant was ultimately acquitted unanimously by the Jury.
