Following a 5-week trial at Cambridge Crown Court, an individual was acquitted of attempted murder, s.18 wounding, possession of a bladed article and two counts of supplying crack cocaine and heroin. The jury accepted the victim of a near fatal stabbing was mistaken as to the role played by the defendant and accepted the defendant had been compelled by one of his co-defendants to supply crack cocaine and heroin over a number of years. The two co-defendants were both convicted of stabbing the victim to the heart, which required emergency open heart surgery and left him in a coma for four weeks.
Gordon Carse was instructed by Sarfo Solicitors.
