James Brown KC and Rupert Kent prosecuted a 25-year-old rugby player at Snaresbrook Crown Court in a trial lasting three weeks.  The defendant was charged with 56 counts of serious sexual offences against children, including multiple counts of rape and engaging in sexual communication with children.  He set up a Snapchat channel to groom young teenage boys, paying for the indecent images he received and selling them on.  He had pleaded guilty to 32 offences before the trial began and was convicted by the jury of a further 16 offences, including three more rapes.

The defendant will be sentenced in October.
