The 3-week trial concerned 28 counts spanning a 10-year relationship which began when the client was 12-years-old. The trial was preceded by a 4-day fitness to plead hearing, 6 hours of video recorded interviews, and a day of section 28 cross-examination. William and Claire’s client was acquitted of 8 of the 28 counts, including the most serious charge of Wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
