Claire Mainwaring represented a client charged with Class A drugs supply offences, dating back to 2019 when he was still a youth. The trial raised issues relating to insufficient disclosure and significant delays between charge and trial.
After a three-day trial at Woolwich Crown Court, the jury accepted the defence of modern slavery under s. 45 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015, and the client was unanimously acquitted.
Claire was instructed by Jatinder Sokhal of Thomas Boyd Whyte Solicitors.
