Louise Oakley prosecuted Tracey Smith for harassing Ellie Reeves MP. Between July 2024 and October 2024, Ms Smith sent multiple emails and voice messages to the MP for Lewisham West and East Dulwich. The communications contained repeated threats of legal action, baseless allegations of criminal conduct and abuse. District Judge Snow ruled that the communications were ‘menacing’ and ‘alarming’ and concluded that such behaviour was ‘a danger to our democracy’.
