5KBW is delighted to announce that our associate member, Johan Eriksson, has been awarded His Majesty the King of Sweden’s medal, 8th size in dark blue ribbon, ‘For outstanding contributions to the Swedish Legal System’.
The King’s Medal is a personal award of huge distinction in Sweden.
Johan Eriksson has long been one of Sweden’s most prominent defence lawyers and has participated in several of the country’s most high-profile criminal cases. He has also been a central voice on issues of legal security, the role of defenders in the rule of law, and the individual’s rights in relation to the state. H.M. the King has judged Johan Eriksson’s work within the country’s legal system to be so significant that it warrants one of the most prestigious medals.
The medal will be presented by H.M. the King in November 2026 at the Royal Palace in Stockholm.
