Elena accepts instructions across the full range of Chambers’ practice areas and has developed a busy and varied criminal practice. She regularly appears in the Crown Court, Magistrates’ Court and Youth Court.
Elena acts for both the prosecution and defence in cases involving serious violence, drug offences, fraud and driving matters. Her experience also extends to quasi criminal proceedings, including applications for Stalking Protection Orders, Sexual Harm Prevention Orders and Football Banning Orders.
She has completed specialist training to represent children in the Youth Court and has also undertaken vulnerable witness training. Elena has been commended as an excellent advocate who appears “far more experienced than her call”.
Prior to practicing as a barrister, Elena worked within the legal team of the UK’s largest electricity distribution network operator. In that role, she supported the Health and Safety Director and General Counsel in the defence of two criminal prosecutions brought by the Health and Safety Executive and assisted in the preparation of a high value fraud claim exceeding £1 million.
Elena also previously worked as a Caseworker for a criminal justice charity operating within prisons, where she supported rehabilitation and assisted offenders in accessing education, training and employment opportunities upon release.
