Instructed to prosecute a case of assisting unlawful immigration. The defendant, based in London, helped pilot migrant vessels across the Mediterranean Sea from North Africa to Italy. Seven trips were intercepted by Italian coastguards, there being over 3,000 people taken to shore across all trips. Instructed by the CPS Serious Economic Organised Crime and International Directorate.
