The defendant was charged with three counts of rape said to have occurred in a park. He was 16 years old at the time and the complainant, 15. Seven of the complainant’s friends aged 14-15 years old purported to have witnessed the rape, requiring all of them to be cross examined. Following a 10-day trial, defendant acquitted of all counts.
