Two men have been convicted of murder and two counts of attempted murder. The case was prosecuted by Ben Holt, led by Crispin Aylett KC [QEB].

On the evening of Saturday 14 December 2024, a large number of people, many of them from the Ghanian community in London, assembled at the River of Life Church close from Church Road in Willesden. They were there to attend a wake. At shortly after 9pm, a stolen Kia drove along the road. Five shots were fired out of the rear window of the car. Michelle Sadio, a forty-four-year-old mother of two, was fatally injured. Two other men were also injured. The car was later found burnt out on a housing state in the Wembley area.

The gun had been used in two shootings in the same area in the previous three months.

The prosecution’s case was that this was a gang-related crime; the target of the shooting being a well-known local rapper called ‘Trapstar Toxic’.

Following a three-month trial before McGowan J, sitting at the Central Criminal Court, Perry Allen-Thomas and Amir Salem were convicted of their roles in the shooting. They will be sentenced at a later date.

Counsel were instructed by CPS Homicide Unit.
