Tenancy & Pupillage at 5KBW

Tenancy

5KBW does not actively advertise tenancy vacancies but applications from exceptional candidates are always welcome and will be treated in the strictest confidence and in accordance with the Equality and Diversity Code for the Bar. All applications for tenancy should be addressed to the joint Heads of Chambers.

Experienced practitioners who apply will ordinarily be invited for an informal and confidential discussion with the joint Heads of Chambers and one or two members of the Management Committee.  Should both sides wish the application to progress, it will then go on to be considered by chambers in accordance with its constitution and will continue to be treated confidentially.

In the case of practitioners who have just completed their twelve-month pupillage, we would usually invite a candidate to apply for a third-six pupillage before making an application for tenancy. Applications are considered on merit and irrespective of sex, age, race, colour, ethnic or national origin, marital status or sexual orientation, religion or disability.

12 Month Funded Pupillages

Chambers provide two funded pupillages each year. For details of how to apply for a 12 Month funded pupillage at 5KBW please click here.

3rd 6 Pupillages

Chambers accept applications from exceptional candidates that are looking for an unfunded 3rd 6 pupillage at the Criminal Bar. Details of how to apply can be found here.
