William Davis, Sam Bonner, and Sam Willis have been awarded Specialist Crime Commendations by the Metropolitan Police for their work on Operation Script, a major investigation into high-level drug trafficking uncovered through EncroChat evidence.
Operation Script led to the conviction of Anthony Penn, who was found guilty by a jury of conspiracy to supply Class A and Class B drugs between March and July 2020. The case centred on encrypted EncroChat messages revealing the large-scale commercial supply of cocaine and cannabis.
HHJ Cole, sentencing at Southwark Crown Court on 26 March 2025, described Penn as occupying a leading role in a serious and commercial conspiracy and imposed a total sentence of 18 years’ imprisonment.
