Louise Oakley prosecuted double murderer Shaine March, who has been sentenced to life imprisonment.
Mr Justice Murray fixed the minimum term he must serve at 42 years imprisonment. As a result, Shaine March will be 89 years of age before he can be considered for parole.
The facts of the case were that in the early hours of the morning on 22 July 2024 Shaine March, who was subject to life licence as a result of a previous conviction for murder, stabbed Alana Odysseos (who was 7- 8 weeks pregnant at the time) multiple times with a kitchen knife. The attack took place both inside and outside her home address. Her 2-year old daughter was present inside the property during the attack. The attack was preceded by ongoing controlling and coercive behaviour including acts of violence.
