Two construction companies were engaged in a major building project and a worker tragically lost his life in a trench collapse. The client, furloughed at the time but kept at work by one of the companies, was charged with manslaughter following a major investigation involving HSE and the police.
After a trial lasting over three months at the Old Bailey, the client was acquitted, and the two companies convicted.
