Anna Dutka is a specialist criminal barrister, who prosecutes and defends across all areas of serious crime, including fraud, violence, drugs, weapons and public order.

Known for her pragmatic advice and calm and professional client care, Anna quickly grasps complex arguments and translates them into polished, persuasive advocacy in court. Anna is also skilled at conducting cases involving vulnerable clients and witnesses, adapting her approach to accommodate those vulnerabilities, building a rapport and, where appropriate, working seamlessly with specialist intermediaries.
She is adept at reviewing and condensing enormous quantities of evidence to support her cases and make information accessible to juries. As a consequence, Anna is frequently instructed as junior prosecution counsel, particularly in cases of attempted murder, large-scale drug supply and firearms.
Anna’s attention to detail and ability to condense large amounts of material has been demonstrated in her work as prosecution disclosure junior in several human trafficking and modern slavery trials. In one case, she had to review thousands of hours of CCTV footage and create viewing logs for use at trial. The case resulted in 60 unanimous guilty verdicts. Anna has also acted as a prosecution disclosure junior in a trial of a youth charged with 22 counts of rape. Anna’s close analysis of third-party material and mobile-phone downloads played a crucial role in the trial.
Anna is currently instructed prosecution junior counsel in Operation Aviary, a Metropolitan Police operation targeting Class A drug supply in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets.
Anna has particular expertise in the provisions of bad character evidence under the Criminal Justice Act 2003, having completed an LLM on this topic.
