Bartholomew O’Toole is a well-regarded and highly experienced criminal barrister representing clients on both sides of the court in a wide range of serious criminal cases. He has extensive experience acting in cases of violence including murder, firearms, armed robbery, grievous bodily harm, rape and other sexual offences.
Bartholomew has also represented clients in cases involving serious and organised crime such as drugs production and importations, blackmail and company director and trading standards offences. He regularly undertakes family law work including public and private law Children Act proceedings and ancillary relief. Bartholomew has also successfully prosecuted a number of cases in the Court of Appeal.
As an active football referee, former Chairman of the Board of the Referees’ Association and current Chairman of the Amateur Football Alliance and London Society of Association Referees, Bartholomew often advises and represents football referees at internal Football Association Appeal Boards and disciplinary hearings and occasionally in the criminal Courts.
