Ben Holt led Sam Willis in the prosecution of Caolan Gormley who was charged with a conspiracy to assist unlawful immigration into the UK. Gormley was the last defendant to come before the Courts charged with offending linked to the thirty-nine Vietnamese migrants who were found deceased in a trailer in Purfleet, Essex. Two further defendants pleaded guilty prior to trial; one to thirty-nine counts of manslaughter. Mr Gormley was convicted after a trial at the Central Criminal Court. He is due to be sentenced on the 30th November.
