Natasha can bring to life even the most forbidding, technical and document-heavy cases.
She has particular experience of defending those charged with or being investigated in respect of serious and complex fraud, conspiracies, fraud by abuse of trust, allegations of cheating HMRC, money laundering, bribery and corruption. She also acts for professional clients accused of false accounting, theft from client accounts or employers, conspiracy to pervert the course of justice and associated disciplinary proceedings.
Natasha’s expertise includes presenting and responding to legal arguments encompassing every aspect of criminal law, including the admissibility of evidence; joinder and severance; challenging and advising on expert and forensic evidence; legal professional and litigation privilege; applications to stay proceedings on the grounds of abuse of process or fitness to stand trial, or public interest immunity; and disclosure, character and hearsay issues, dismissal applications and submissions of no case to answer.
She also provides advice and guidance to professional clients on compliance or regulatory issues that arise during the course of their business, including contesting regulatory proceedings, financial irregularities and their statutory liabilities.
Natasha has a wealth of experience defending those accused of serious criminal offences. Her cases have included murder (including gang-related murder involving the use of firearms), assisted suicide, drug offences, and sexual offences. She has great experience in dealing with vulnerable and/or young defendants and witnesses, including those suffering from psychiatric or psychological conditions, where her calm and empathetic approach enables her to present the most compelling case without alienating juries.
She is experienced and skilled at presenting and challenging expert evidence, including DNA, pathology, CCTV and mobile phone/cell site, handwriting, ballistics, mental health, toxicology and digital forensics and challenge critical evidence.
She is also instructed privately to represent individuals facing serious allegations under the Sexual Offences Act.
