Dickon Reid is a highly experienced and respected criminal barrister, who regularly acts as junior alone and leading junior counsel, for both the prosecution and defence in a wide range of serious criminal matters.
His practice focuses primarily on financial and serious or violent crimes, including organised crime, drug and people trafficking, gang rivalries, firearms offences, sexual offences and all types of homicide cases at the Central Criminal Court.
Dickon regularly appears in lengthy and complicated cases including multi-kilo Class-A drugs importations, conspiracies to possess firearms with intent to endanger life and cases involving human trafficking. He has also prosecuted and defended a number of confiscation proceedings under the Proceeds of Crime Act 2002 and the Drug Trafficking Act 1994, and in duty and VAT evasion fraud proceedings against a gang smuggling alcohol from the Continent.
Alongside his serious crime practice, Dickon also has substantial experience in prosecutions against individuals and companies brought by local authorities in respect of housing and benefit fraud, health and safety and trading standards. He has appeared in a number of Courts Martial in Germany and in the United Kingdom.
Prior to being called to the Bar, Dickon was a financial journalist. He was taken on as a tenant after successful completion of a 12-month pupillage with chambers head Sarah Forshaw.
