Fiona Ryan is a specialist criminal barrister. She is instructed for the prosecution and defence in a wide range of criminal cases.
Fiona appears in Crown Courts throughout London and the South East of England. She has a busy and varied criminal practice and has experience across the full range of criminal proceedings. Recent cases include allegations involving firearms, drugs importation and supply, s.18 GBH, robbery and fraud. She is a Grade 3 panel advocate for the CPS.
Fiona has appeared before the Court of Appeal on behalf of both the appellant and the respondent.
Fiona is a conscientious and passionate advocate, who tends to gain the trust and confidence of clients with difficult needs who require particular attention. She always provides a detailed Note to her instructing solicitor on the same day as the hearing, and will advise promptly in writing, particularly in cases with complex legal issues.
Fiona recently spent a year seconded as part of the team working on an ongoing high profile multi-jurisdictional investigation into corporate corruption and bribery by the client firm.
She has previously practised in the Turks and Caicos Islands, where she represented defendants accused of possession of firearms with intent to rob, rape, and other criminal offences, as well as gaining experience in civil and employment disputes.
