Teenager Who Posted IS Videos Online To ‘Join Trend’ Sentenced

Frederick Hookway appeared on behalf of the prosecution in this case where the defendant pleaded guilty to six counts of disseminating terrorist publications. The material espoused support for the Islamic State and was posted across social media applications Tiktok and Telegram. The defendant pleaded guilty to a further count of failing to comply with a Notice that required disclosure of access details for an online cloud storage folder. On Friday 9 May 2025 the defendant was sentenced at the Central Criminal Court to a total of 4 years’ 6 months’ imprisonment with an extended licence period of 1 year.
